International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8, is a global observance established to recognize and promote women’s rights and gender equality, with various events and campaigns taking place worldwide.
At NOUL, we mark International Women’s Day each year as an opportunity to reflect on the importance of advancing women’s rights and fostering gender equality. This year, under the theme “From Inclusion to Growth,” we organized a range of internal programs. Ahead of the event, NOUL’s COO emphasized the significance of gender equality for both individuals and organizations, sharing the belief that providing women with greater opportunities and support enables organizations to achieve more innovative thinking, diverse leadership, and new drivers of growth.
The employee engagement programs prepared for this year’s celebration encouraged meaningful dialogue and deeper understanding. We invited a female leader to share insights on how an inclusive environment can drive positive change within teams and organizations, and hosted lunch sessions where employees exchanged perspectives on NOUL’s work environment, policies, and culture. In addition, we distributed roses—symbolic of International Women’s Day—to employees, encouraging them to share the meaning of the day with their families, friends, and colleagues, and to foster a culture that supports and celebrates women’s careers and growth.
Why International Women’s Day Was Established

The origins of International Women’s Day can be traced back to the labor movements of women workers in the early 20th century. At the time, women raised their voices to demand improved working conditions, fair wages, and the right to vote. In this context, at the International Socialist Women’s Conference held in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1910, German activist Clara Zetkin proposed the establishment of an international day dedicated to women’s rights, leading to the global spread of the concept. In 1917, protests led by women workers in Russia further intensified attention on women’s social and political rights, as they became a catalyst for the February Revolution.
Today, International Women’s Day has evolved into a global occasion to reflect on the advancement of women’s rights and the importance of gender equality, while encouraging efforts to build a more inclusive and equitable society. Companies, institutions, and communities around the world use this day as an opportunity to raise awareness and drive meaningful change.
How Companies Are Marking International Women’s Day

In recent years, a growing number of global companies have been marking International Women’s Day in diverse ways, highlighting women’s rights and roles through meaningful initiatives.
For example, Mattel launched a Barbie project celebrating female sports icons, introducing dolls modeled after real-life figures such as British footballer Chloe Kelly. Through this initiative, the company emphasized the impact of women in sports and presented diverse female role models to inspire the next generation. Meanwhile, Starbucks Mexico introduced the “Sirens of the Countryside” campaign, spotlighting women coffee farmers. As part of the initiative, the company released a limited-edition reusable cup and allocated a portion of the proceeds to support mobile healthcare programs aimed at improving access to medical services for women in rural communities.
In the healthcare sector, global diagnostics company Roche focused on addressing persistent gaps in women’s health. By highlighting diseases that disproportionately affect women—such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease—the company emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and expanded access to screening, while reinforcing its commitment to advancing global collaboration and innovation to reduce health inequities.
A Continued Commitment to Women’s Health and NOUL’s Cervical Cancer Solution

NOUL has been consistently committed to advancing women’s health and reducing disparities in access to care. Cervical cancer, in particular, is highly preventable when detected early, as precancerous lesions can be treated before progressing. When diagnosed at an early stage, the survival rate exceeds 90%, highlighting the critical importance of regular screening and improved access to diagnostic services in enhancing women’s health outcomes.
To address these challenges, NOUL developed its cervical cancer diagnostic solution, miLab™ CER, with the goal of improving the diagnostic environment and enabling more women to access high-quality screening. miLab™ CER is a digital microscopy solution designed for cervical cytology, featuring automated workflows and AI-based analysis to enhance efficiency and deliver accurate and consistent results. Notably, NOUL’s proprietary liquid-free staining technology, NGSI™, enables cervical cell screening using only a device and cartridge, eliminating the need for complex infrastructure and making it particularly suitable for resource-limited settings.
As a result, miLab™ CER serves as a solution to help bridge existing diagnostic gaps and expand access to quality healthcare for women worldwide. Through this innovation, NOUL continues to contribute to reducing inequalities in women’s health and advancing global health equity.

NOUL’s mission is to deliver high-quality healthcare even in resource-limited settings by transforming the in vitro diagnostics process through innovative technology and improving access to care, enabling people around the world to experience more equitable healthcare.
Under this vision, the miLab™ platform is designed as a fully integrated system using only a device and cartridge, automating the entire process from sample preparation to analysis and diagnosis. Its proprietary on-device AI automatically detects and analyzes cells to deliver accurate results. Currently deployed in approximately 20 countries worldwide, the miLab™ platform continues to expand through collaborations with healthcare institutions and global partners. By demonstrating both real-world applicability and market potential, it is establishing itself as a solution that advances healthcare accessibility and drives global healthcare innovation.
